The tent is back

Finally the workshop stands again. After a lot of busywork and other projects I finally managed (with some help) to prep a place for the tent and actually put it up. Took all of 2 afternoons of work. The tent looks really small in it's new setting :) I hope to be able to start doing some work on Piglet soon.

ciao.

  1. how is the project progressing? any updates?please continue with your blog how did you find working from the grid of dimensions - I have got the globe 580 plans as well as the setka plans and the cg580 plans have dimensions for each frame and the setka are just layed out on the grid of squares - did you find them accurate enough?

    1. Hi Nath, I booked zero progress lately as I'm tied up with the rebuild of my new place and workshop but I do hope to return to the blog before the winter ends...
As for the lack of dimensions on the setka plans: I worked them out from the line plan using a set of calipers as the frame drawings are a tad smallish. I did verify my measurements using a free version DelftShip (a free boat design program) so I'm pretty confident all is ok-ish :) The real world accuracy of working with a wooden frame is such that you really don't need to worry about millimeter type error (see my early posts) - do try though!
      happy building!

  2. Hello, I hope you will soon have time for your project again. At the moment I'm building (in the basement, no space, no money :-)...) a small dinghy for learning, but the plans for Setka are already hanging on the wall! I'm looking forward to more pictures and interesting posts from you. Great work! Greetings from Germany, Jürgen
